As you may be aware, the Covid 19 situation in India is dire. Oxygen is very scarce, among other things like hospital beds, medicines, ventilators, and vaccines. Vision Express has already funded more than 100 oxygen concentrators to help. Our current goal is to raise $1,000,000 dollars to send oxygen concentrators and other supplies to 50 different hospitals and NGOs throughout India in the next 30 to 45 days. Women’s healthcare in rural Indian communities is often given secondary priority. One of the most prevalent health problem for females in many regions of India is having cataracts. It is financially impossible for a vast majority of these women to pay for corrective surgery.

Vision impairment makes it very difficult for women to maintain their roles as mothers, wives, grandmothers, and contributors to their families and villages. Many vision impaired females experience shame, loss of self-worth, and isolation. Not only is it difficult for them to help their family, but additionally, they become reliant on assistance from family members for simple tasks.
